Location: Scarabeo Camp, Marrakech February 2018
Behind the scenes at the first photoshoot and adventure : The release of the confettibird
35 kilometers from Marrakech, in the small rocky desert of Agafay – we found magic!
The camp siting affords stunning 360° views of the Agafay’s barren grandeur and beyond to the snow-capped Atlas mountains.
We started off with an early lunch, and then my birds and the crew were ready to attack the amazing scenery.
Join us!
First out in the spotlight; confettibird Hilde
Although it was a sunny day, there was no Summer temperatures.
Luckily we had the camp area to ourselves and could get warm and cozy inside the beautiful tents – they even had a fireplace!
The camp crew took such good care of us, and we got servings of homemade snacks and tea all day –
and no place know their tea better than Moroccans! So delicious, even if you’re not a tea-person.
– Cathrine, making sure the birds drink their tea and keep warm.
Next up!
Confettibird Cathrine in the spotlight, and yes, we challenged her to get friendly with the camels.
After a little camel show and shooting in the desert swamps with Cathrine, it was time for Miss Funky Pants herself, confettibird Anneli to enter the spotlight;
Nina and Monica getting her ready to shine in front of the camera with some props and final touch-ups.

Can you believe this view?!
During the last hours before the sunset, it was time for our confettibird Tale.
With no time to loose, we rushed off to get as much magic as we possibly could before the day reached to an end! – So happy we did that, because when the sun dawned on us, and when you couldn’t imagine this place getting more beautiful, it did!
A little game of desert bocca, just to see who’s number one! 😉
Tind Bird can make any situation into a disco party!
Getting the last shots of the birds sharing cozy moments in these beautiful surroundings.
In the end, we also got ourselves a little
Sex & The City scenario #abudhabistyle
After a long day, we wrapped up the shoot, literally – in blankets, and around the fire.
CHEERS! – For this desert fairytale.
Looking back on the trip so far, and all the chaos and great fun, nothing else but to smile and laughs!
Lucky me to have experienced this with the best crew in history!
Thank you to my desert birds
